2. Friday, November 3rd, 2017, at 14.00, at the Mansarda Gallery of the Faculty of Arts and Design: conference “The Relationship between Anthropology and Contemporary Art”, held by Francesco Marano.
The conference presents the relationship between anthropology and contemporary art that has a long history, with roots in primitivism and historical avant-garde. Contemporary art that explores anthropological practices has begun to use documenting and archiving work methods. On the other hand, anthropology, due to self-criticism of the discipline, has taken note of its fictional character and in recent years its methods and forms of representation of culture have been contaminated with the type of language of contemporary art without giving up the main purpose, namely to understand a culture within it. Thus, anthropology and contemporary art, especially in relation to site-specific practices and relational art, use methods and approaches based on collaboration, participation, attention for emotional and sensory aspects, and the use of multi-medial techniques.

FRANCESCO GRISELINI (n. 1717, VeneÈ›ia – d. 1787, Milano)
Curând a dobândit faima bine meritată a unei adevărate „enciclopedii ambulante”.
